About us:
CSI was one of the first outpatient community mental health clinics to offer home-based therapy to families facing barriers to mental health care. CSI’s community outreach model started after long-term psychiatric hospitals were shut down in the 60’s-70’s and replaced with outpatient mental health services. For nearly four decades CSI has remained dedicated to social justice and delivering therapy in accessible ways regardless of a person’s circumstance
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Attend all weekly group supervision meetings weekly with Psychiatry Manager.
- Check in with Psychiatry Manager individually daily psychiatry updates.
- Interface with reception to ensure timely movement of clients and assessed needs of the clinic pertaining to day-to-day operations.
- Escort client to psychiatry department or “room” patients virtually using telehealth technology and ensuring connection.
- Check vitals (Blood pressure, weight, and height)/conduct drug testing (oral swab) as needed or required to be processed and sent to lab.
- Start psychiatric e/m notes for providers before client visit.
- Communication of schedule updates to psychiatry managers and providers.
- Assist in maintaining psych department calendars for all providers (Scheduling appointments and assisting with changes to schedule).
- Check all notification platforms of communication for psychiatry via email/messaging/calls.
- Triage phone department phone calls.
- Document all inquiries (via email/messaging/calls) in chart and notify team for follow-up if needed.
- Relay vital information to clients and staff when requested (i.e., reviewing chart for updates).
- Provide coverage for reception as needed.
- Inform clients/staff/ other inquirers of policy and procedures of department.
- Scan and upload documents (discharge summary, lab reports, etc.).
- Attend meetings pertaining to psychiatry when requested to do so.

Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Good Computers Skills
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work
- Communicating with Supervisors, and Peers
- Making Decisions and Solving Problems
